Wings - our new workshops for women in design & tech project.
We're developing a project for women who want to learn new skills, build on their industry knowledge or who feel concerned that their skills are out-dated. We'd love to involve you, hear your thoughts, feedback and ideas on this project and how we could improve it.
Wings is workshop based with one-day courses on subjects such as:
- Mobile app design
- User experience design
- Coding PHP, the basics
- Being a confident speaker, to clients and audiences
These subjects aren't set in stone and soon we'll ask you to vote on which workshops you think should be made available.
How the workshops will work
Duration: 1 day
Cost: Free, buffet lunch
Availability: 5 workshops, 10-15 places on each, one workshop per person only.
Location: at physical venues in the East of England and London
The workshops will be run by super women in the industry. Take-away guides and booklets will be provided. We're looking to offer these workshops to women most in need; who are either unemployed, returning to work after having families or are looking to change careers. The workshop materials will be made available on our website for those unable to attend and possibly some video too.
The aim of this project is to encourage those super talented women out there who are having a tough time, to get their lives back-on-track. To inspire them to start their own businesses, learn something new and go for that top job.
We really need your support to make sure this project is a success. We're currently seeking funding to make this happen so that we can support emerging talent and foster new collaborations. If you'd like to get involved get in touch. We're also looking for women to run the workshops (this is a paid position) so if you'd like to share your hard earned wisdom let us know get in touch.
